

Web Software Intern
Reports to: Director of Web Software
Previous Experience: Familiarity with Internet programming
Education Requirements: Computer Science, Information Systems, Decision Science, Any discipline focused on technology/internet analysis or implementation
Overview
Internship position with LeapFrog focused on Web Software Quality Assurance and support. This position will expose the intern to a fast-paced interactive agency environment and the various design, testing, and implementation activities of web software development.
QA testing is simultaneously one of the most important and overlooked processes in a software development lifecycle. The intern will primarily be responsible for conducting vital Quality Assurance testing of the various applications created by Web Software. This will include functional, user, and browser compatibility testing. The intern will be responsible for the thorough documentation (test cases/procedures, defects, etc) of all testing conducted. Additionally, the intern will be actively exposed to the design, architecture, and coding activities that must occur to ensure successful project completion. After their tour with LeapFrog, the intern will possess practical and first-hand experience of how software shops work.

General Characteristics:
Communication: Excellent oral and written skills. This position requires sending emails, creating documentation, and attending/conducting in-person meetings and presentations.
Organization: Detail-oriented and extremely organized. Must possess a desire to pay attention to the "little things / details" and realize their importance.
Environment: Must be able to excel in fast-paced, ever-changing, collaborative interactive agency environment.
Motivation: Must have the ability to identify needs, take action, and solve problems. Must have a desire to work independently on certain tasks and assignments.

Confidence: Many assignments will require interaction with LeapFrog employees, external vendors, or clients. The intern needs to be comfortable representing LeapFrog to each of these audiences.

Internship Program:
Timeframe: Approximately 4 months (1 semester) Work schedule will be based on availability and flexibility of intern. A work schedule will be worked out with the department manager and the intern.
