A newly designed website for The Louisville Orchestra (www.louisvilleorchestra.org) has gone live, just in time to kick off the Orchestra's 2001-2002 season that begins this weekend.
The site provides fully comprehensive information about the
Orchestra and its events, including online ticket sales available 24/7.
"It's an exciting time of year for The Louisville Orchestra and this
website gives us extra momentum in getting the word out," said Tim
King, Executive Director of the Louisville Orchestra.
Launched in tandem with some of the Orchestra's most popular fall
concerts--including this Saturday's black-tie, gala event, Fanara--the
revitalized website is rich with features and information. It is one of
the few websites in the Louisville arts community offering on-line
ticket sales.
Additionally, visitors to www.louisvilleorchestra.org
can buy season subscriptions, make a donation, learn how to volunteer,
listen to sound clips, read artist's bios, check out who's who at the
orchestra, learn about upcoming events and even find out how to bring
the orchestra into area schools.
King said tremendous thought was put into making sure the website
was easy to navigate. "We wanted visitors to the website to be able to
find exactly what they're looking for within one or two mouse clicks,"
said King.
Philip Koester, marketing director for the Orchestra, said, "Our
website is rich with useful information, unique features, and helpful
services for our patrons."
"The site will play a key role in our marketing plan, especially since we've included e-commerce capabilities," added Koester.
Louisville Orchestra's website was designed and implemented by
LeapFrog Interactive Inc., a Louisville-based web agency. LeapFrog
Interactive President Daniel Knapp said the renovated Louisville
Orchestra site is somewhat unusual for an arts website because of the
online ticket sales.
"some organizations still find it hard to take the e-commerce step,"
said Knapp. "I think it's commendable that the management and board
members of the Orchestra are willing to do so---and I think Orchestra
fans are going to love it."
The Louisville Orchestra has a proud history of providing
world-class performances to the greater Louisville community. With
series ranging from MasterWorks to Pops, a robust educational
curriculum, summer events such as ROARchestra at the Louisville Zoo,
and the children's orKIDStra series. The Louisville Orchestra is a
contributing and vibrant part of our community.
