Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD) Hires LFI for Creative and New Media Services
Posted on March 17, 2006
LeapFrog Interactive is proud to
release a brand new website on the Lincoln Trail Area Development
District, a group of eight diverse counties in Central Kentucky.
The website, www.oneknox.com, developed with the assistance of the
Lincoln Workforce Investment Board, helps military families who are
relocating to central Kentucky as part of the Base Realignment and
Closure Commission (BRAC).
BRAC was established by President George W. Bush, pursuant to the
Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act, to recommend military bases
and installations that should be realigned or closed.
The commission thoroughly evaluates all base realignment and closures
recommended by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. The BRAC process
is used by the Department of Defense to reorganize its installation
infrastructure to support its forces more efficiently and effectively,
increase operational readiness and facilitate new ways of doing
business.
"We are excited to be chosen for this visionary project and look
forward to partnering with the Lincoln Trail Area Development District
in the long-term development and promotion of this forward-thinking
website," said LeapFrog Founder and President Daniel Knapp.
Paid for with federal funds, the LTADD website contains a "search-by"
listings feature that allows families to search according to certain
categories, such as government, employment, housing, religion, or
resources specifically relating to soldiers in the U.S. Armed Forces and
their families.
The listings can be sorted by category, by city or by county to make
locating the right resources more convenient. More information on any
resource listed can be found by clicking on the more info link for that
particular resource.
Members of the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board will also be
traveling to locations around Kentucky that have units that are
relocating to Fort Knox, passing out brochures on the region. Residents
can sign up for an electronic monthly newsletter at oneknox.com that
will provide updated news and relevant information.
"This website supports current residents, those interested in
residing within the Lincoln Trail region, and any business looking for
local, county and state resources," Knapp said. "The LTADD vision is a
model for other regional development authorities and establishes a
community resource that will be available for many years to come."
LeapFrog will be utilizing a full battery of New Media Services
including permission marketing, organic search optimization, paid
search, and press release optimization. Knapp had this to say about
optimization, "Designing the site from the ground up allowed us to build
it in a way more suitable for search listings. Laying the foundation
for success is the first step in the fight for online brand dominance."
Permission marketing will also allow LTADD to stay in touch with its
constituents on a monthly basis. Doing so will help LTADD remain a
relevant useful tool to the many people coming to the Lincoln Trail Area
Development District.
About LTADD
Formed in 1968, the Lincoln Trail Area Development District is a
private institution that plans, promotes and sustains economic, social
and natural, and human resources development. LTADD is a public,
non-profit planning and development agency that serves eight central
Kentucky counties - Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, Larue, Marion, Meade,
Nelson and Washington. LTADD was created to provide a regional network
for joint federal, state and local officials to provide the essentials
for the betterment of our communities.
These counties share historical social and economic ties.
Self-reliance, with strong ties to traditional attitudes, has long been a
hallmark of the people of this region. The Lincoln Trail Area
Development District provides leadership in strategic planning
development and plays a significant role in selecting management
resources. Local officials and local needs guide the district.
The Lincoln Trail Area Development District is governed by a
48-member board of directors representing all sectors of the communities
within the eight county region. The Board consists of eight County
Judge Executives, 15 mayors, 22 citizen members, two members of the
Kentucky General Assembly, and a representative of the Commanding
General, Ft. Knox. The Board coordinates governmental activities in the
region and sets policies to guide the District's planning and
development efforts, and establishes various committees and advisory
councils to aid in its policy decisions. The committees and councils
assist the Board through special studies and recommendations to solve
problems and enhance development in specific areas. These committees and
advisory councils are critical to the ADD process. They aid the Board
of Directors with special studies and recommendations to solve problems
and enhance development in the area.
The Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board
The Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is the primary
committee responsible for the implementation, planning, administration
and oversight of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The purpose of
the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is to provide the framework for a
unique national workforce preparation and employment system designed to
meet the needs of business and job seekers as well as those who to
further their careers.
The Lincoln Trail WIB provides a regional forum where business, one
stop partners, labor, education, community based organizations, economic
development, local elected officials, and others jointly address
employment and training issues for the region. The Board is comprised of
45 members with 51 percent of its membership representing business.
